Practicing 3 Good Things broadens and expands the experience of gratitude. It builds upon gratitude, promotes optimism, and looks at the big picture. Research suggests that engaging in happy thoughts and gratitude are the foundation of happiness.
Expand thoughts of gratitude by asking:
How did this good thing happen?

I planned ahead and stuck to my plan. I talked to my son about his role in leaving the house on time for school days
What personal strengths did I use that helped to contribute to the experience?
I used good communications skills to express my needs and made a plan
What does this mean for you?
It reinforceed that some control on how to we start our day, simple acheivable steps help me gain some control over the morning routine. I can communicate my needs
How will this help the future?
I am empowered in knowing that I have some control how much stress I experience in the morning. I am not destined to be stressed and late to work.
